Susan Pos is an independent healthcare consultant based in Johannesburg, South Africa, currently collaborating with COHSASA to coordinate nursing quality and patient safety initiatives for the National Hospital Network (NHN). With more than two decades of leadership experience in private healthcare, she has worked extensively across South Africa, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Asia and Africa, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and Kenya.
Susan has led nursing, quality and clinical governance teams across multiple health systems, contributing to the commissioning of new hospitals and chairing board quality sub-committees. In her most recent international role in Indonesia, she oversaw quality, risk and nursing services for a 41-hospital group, supporting JCI accreditation and Magnet nursing accreditation initiatives.
Her professional focus includes nursing leadership, patient safety, healthcare risk management and quality improvement. Susan holds multiple nursing qualifications, an MBA, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with the University of Cumbria in the United Kingdom.
