Brent Sin Hidge is a hospital pharmacist in the private sector. Positions held in the past include SAAHIP Western Cape Vice-Chairman and Member of the Steering Committee of the PSSA YPG as the Project Coordinator. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Western Cape branch of SAAHIP in his third term. He is a member of the National Executive Committee of the PSSA. His pharmaceutical passion lies in pharmacy digitalisation which led him to present on the topic at the PSSA conference in 2022.
He also serves on the FIP Technology Advisory Group in the Artificial Intelligence Working Group. Most recently he co-authored and co-edited an international guideline on the safe implementation of AI in pharmacy with FIP. He was also awarded the Rising Star Award from his alma mater (Nelson Mandela University) in recognition of demonstrating an excellent, upward moving professional track record, clear impact in their field or society, strong alignment with the University’s values, commitment to continuous learning, and meaningful service to society.
