Abdool Gaffar Amod is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with extensive experience in financial management and hospital administration within South Africa’s private healthcare sector. He holds a BCom from the University of Durban-Westville and a BCom Honours/CTA from UNISA, and is a registered member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He began his career in auditing and accounting with Masuku Jeena Inc. (later PwC) and served as Audit Manager at ABD&T Chartered Accountants, gaining experience in auditing, taxation, corporate governance, and team leadership.

Transitioning to healthcare, Abdool held senior financial leadership roles at Life Healthcare, including Financial Manager at Mount Edgecombe and Westville Hospitals, overseeing large administrative teams, budgets, audits, and hospital management projects. He later served as Regional Management Accountant for multiple hospitals in the East Rand and spent three years as Operations Director in Ghana. He currently serves as Hospital CEO at Lenmed Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital.

Abdool is recognised for strong leadership in financial governance, strategic planning, and hospital administration, with expertise in major projects, system implementation, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder engagement. Known for his analytical thinking and ability to manage diverse teams, he consistently delivers positive operational and audit outcomes in complex healthcare environments.
