Christine is a qualified Pharmacist who obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from the University of Pretoria. She also holds two other qualifications, a Diploma in Occupationally Directed Education Training Practices and a Master’s in Business Leadership obtained from UNISA School of Business Leadership.
Christine started her career as a community pharmacist, where she held the position of group operations manager for 16 retail pharmacies. Whilst completing her master’s degree, she locumed for two years, giving her exposure to other industries such as institutional, veterinary, wholesaling, manufacturing, and courier pharmacy.
Christine then joined the Watertower pharmacy group as Chief Executive Officer, where she was responsible for the strategic and operational activities of the group. In 2001, she started Pharmacy Development Academy and was the managing director for 14 years. She joined the Health Science Academy team in October as deputy CEO of Health Science Academy.
She is a registered assessor and moderator with the WRSETA and the South African Pharmacy Council. She was appointed as a subject matter expert by the WRSETA to be part of the occupational qualifications working group to rescope FMCG occupational qualifications. She is also a CHIETA Chamber member representing pharmacy.
She has been the President of the South African Association of Community Pharmacists from 2015 to 2018 and is currently an elected South African Pharmacy Council Member and serves on EXCO, the Pre-registration and Education committees, and related task teams.
