Dr Seshnee Moodley is an experienced pharmacist currently employed at a tertiary hospital in the Eastern Cape. She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from the University of Port Elizabeth in 2005 and subsequently completed her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at Rhodes University in 2020.
She has practiced extensively in both institutional (public and private) and community pharmacy settings, acquiring broad experience across these sectors. She has previously been registered as a Responsible Pharmacist and is currently registered as a tutor and serves as an Honorary Fellow at Rhodes University.
Dr Moodley currently serves as President of the South African Association of Hospital and Institutional Pharmacists (SAAHIP). In prior leadership roles, she served as National Vice-President of SAAHIP and as Chairperson of the SAAHIP Eastern Cape Branch. She has also contributed to the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA) through the Border and Eastern Districts Branch Executive, where she served one term as Vice-Chairperson. In 2023, she was officially appointed as an Additional Member of the PSSA National Executive, a position she continues to hold.
She is an active member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), serving since 2022 on the FIP World Hospital Pharmacy Research Committee (WhoPRec) Working Group and on the FIP Hospital Pharmacy Section Committee on Communication and Digital Engagement.
Dr Moodley is a respected leader, mentor, and innovator in her field. She is guided by the principle that knowledge is power, and that knowledge gained must be shared for the advancement of the profession and improved patient care.
